This entire module contains information on various topics to help you understand the course design, weekly assignments and navigation along with policies for the class. Reading through it all will ensure you understand how to successfully navigate this Canvas site and succeed in the course. This is especially important in a fast-paced course [12 short weeks!!] done online.

There are four sections under which various pages and assignments are listed. Please do them in the order listed.

Section 1: Getting Started in COMM 01

This links under this heading help you understand how the course is laid out, where things are housed and how to use the technologies in this course. We will not only be using Canvas but also online conferencing technology: Zoom and online video discussion: FlipGrid. Learning how to use them will ensure you do not fall behind in what can already be a stressful course. Please take the time to read through this information carefully.

Section 2: Course Policies

While the syllabus offered a general overview of the policies for late work, plagiarism etc, this section covers each of these in greater detail. You will be quizzed on these so do read them.

Section 3: Assignment Expectations

This section not only details the guidelines and grading rubric for discussions but also offers suggestions for effective communication in an online classroom.

Section 4: Orientation Activities

This section contains a Goal sheet and a syllabus quiz. You need to complete both before you will be granted access to Module for Week 1 and 2. You need to complete this on time to not be dropped from the course.
