1.1 What is LibreTexts ADAPT?
What is ADAPT?
Developed by LibreTexts, ADAPT Links to an external site. is an online repository of high-quality, pre-built assessments and personalized learning tools. It contains hundreds of thousands of questions across various subjects that are searchable individually and within an assignment or course. You can create new assessments, adapt existing questions, and import questions from platforms like H5P, WeBWork, and IMathAS. ADAPT contains extensive question banks from OER creators, including OpenStax and LibreTexts, that are aligned with companion texts. It also integrates with Canvas, allowing automatic grade imports, and leads with accessibility features to support all students.
What you'll find on the ADAPT website before logging in:
- Browse Open Courses Links to an external site. - see ADAPT courses and their assignments (click on the eyeball icon in the Actions column). Note that you will not be able to see the assessments (individual questions) without logging in with your ADAPT account. However, you can see assessments designed to work with LibreTexts textbooks by searching for a course in LibreTexts Commons Homework Links to an external site., selecting the course name, and clicking on "View Course."
- Create your Instructor Account - create an account to enroll your course and see more.
- Create your Student Account - if you choose not to integrate with Canvas, your students can create an account to complete their assignments on the platform.

- Assignment - container with a single assessment or group of assessments.

A Note about Compliance
Your college may require information about FERPA and accessibility compliance for ADAPT. This will be especially important if you are requesting an LTI or API connection to Canvas. ADAPT identifies questions that may have accessibility concerns, recommending that instructors provide an alternative for students who may need assistive technology. Information you may be asked to provide to your college can be found at:
- Terms of Use Links to an external site.
- FERPA Statement Links to an external site.
- Accessibility Report Links to an external site.
