Adding Questions to an Assignment
The Assignments Table
You must be in one of your courses to add questions to an assignment. Use the Dashboard to navigate to the "My Courses" area. Check out page 1.3 Navigating ADAPT if you need a refresher. When you open a course, you will see all assignments in the assignment table. Click on an assignment name to add a question to the assignment.
The Questions Table
Once on the assignment page, you will see the Questions table with the following details:
The order in which the questions appear. You can use the hamburger menu to the left of the order number to drag and drop questions into a different order. This will automatically change the number in the title.
The title of the question. You can click the pencil to edit the title of the question.
The ADAPT ID. The first number represents the class ID. The second number represents the question ID. You can click the copy button to copy the ID number to your clip-board.
Submission type. This identifies the type of question.
The number of points possible.
The solution if one has been created.
The More Actions menu which includes:
A pencil icon. This allows you to edit the question, but is only available if you created the question. If you did not, you'll get a message indicating you cannot edit the question because you are not the original author.
A clone icon. This allows you to make a copy of the question that you then own and can now edit.
The trash can icon. This allows you to delete the question from the assignment.
You can add questions to an assignment by clicking the blue Add Questions button above the assignment information.
Adding from Question Bank
The Question Bank has two dropdown menus. In the first one, you choose a source:
Search Questions: Allows you to search all questions
My Questions: Allows you to look at questions you have created
My Favorites: Questions you've saved to a Favorites folder
My Courses: Allows you to choose a course from your My Courses dashboard
Commons: All courses that appear in the LibreTexts Commons library
All Public Courses: This includes all Commons courses as well as any course an ADAPT user has made public
In this example, the user has chosen Commons in the first drop-down. The second drop-down asks you to pick a course. Once that selection has been made, all questions in the course appear.
The display under the drop-down menu shows all questions in the course organized by assignment.
The greyed out assignment indicates the questions that are being displayed in the table to the right.
To add a question to the assignment, click the plus sign in the Actions column. Once a question is added it will turn red and change to a minus symbol.
This column also allows you to add questions to favorites (heart icon).
You can also select multiple questions:
Click the Title box at the top of the table will select all questions in this assignment. Or click the box next to the question to select just a few.
The Bulk Action dropdown appears. Choose whether you want to view the selected questions, copy their IDs or Add them to the assignment.
