2.1 Creating a New Course

Like Canvas courses, ADAPT courses are the main shell in which assignments (with their assessments) are collected. If you would like to link an ADAPT course to a corresponding Canvas course, see 1.7 Connecting ADAPT to Canvas via LTI and API.

Steps to Create a New Course

  1. To create a new course from scratch, navigate to the "My Courses" page by going to the blue Dashboard button and selecting "My Courses" from the drop down menu.
  2. Select the blue "New Course" button.
  3. Add the details for your course. Most of these fields are pretty straight-forward. If you are uncertain about the meaning of any of the fields, hover over the question mark to the right of the name of the field.
  4. When you have entered all the details about your course, hit Save to create the course.
  5. Add assignments and assessments to the course either by creating new ones or importing them. For help with how to do any of those, see the following pages.
