Welcome to Introduction to Teaching with Canvas!

This is a self-paced version of our four week facilitated course.  Based on the original design, the course is presented in four modules (learning units) that contain all of the content for the topic. You will be able to navigate through the modules freely; however, we recommend you proceed through the content linearly as presented for the most beneficial learning journey.

What is Self-Paced?

A self-paced course is one that you can use for your own exploration of Canvas. Though we've left in activities and assignments for you so you can do guided practice, there is not a facilitator or guide who will look at your work. This course is not eligible for a completion certificate or badge.

Enjoy Your Journey!

When you set up your own online course, think about what items you would put in this beginning area. Most likely, they will be things like a syllabus or course guide, a schedule of assignments (with grade and due date information), general information about important dates for the college, and so forth. You might also put your course policies here. Even though you may put your assignment schedule and policies into your syllabus, you may also want to create separate documents for the schedule, either here or in each week (like the weekly summaries in this course).  A separate policy document that restates what is in the syllabus, is also a good idea. Think of other items you would like to post in this general information area of your course and keep a list of those items for later use as you build your own courses.

Before you go any further, make sure you have read the Course Guide. It is located in the Syllabus section of the course.
