The Gettier Problem

Overview:

For this week's reading we have a short but very influential essay on what counts as knowledge. Edmund Gettier uses thought experiments, which are made-up stories that philosophers use to illustrate their points, to question what it means to have knowledge. These thought experiments have been come to known as Gettier Cases. While reading this week's essay, think about what really counts as having knowledge and how is it that we really know what we know?
