Compatibilism

Overview:

Within the free will and determinism debate, the compatibilists try to eat their cake and have it too. The compatibilists don't think that free will and determinism are compatible. They think that determinism is compatible with moral responsibility. Is this middle ground possible? Pay close attention to this distinction in this week's reading from Princeton philosopher W. T. Stace.
