Module Three - Campus Issues and Faculty Support - Introduction and Learning Outcomes

Supporting and integrating distance education is not a one-person job.  As DE Coordinator you will likely be involved in helping to establish faculty, student, and administrative support on your campus.

After you complete this module, you will be able to:

    • describe the responsibilities of a DEC and typical types of support structures for distance education.
    • provide examples of committees that support distance education, discuss the common functions of such committees, and identify activities and projects that such committees might oversee.
    • discuss DE-related concerns related to faculty compensation, intellectual property rights, and class size.
    • develop professional development trainings and opportunities for your faculty.
    • discuss ideas for supporting faculty in bringing their teaching methods into the 21st Century.
