Reporting to the CCC Chancellor's Office
The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office provides various reports throughout the year to the Governor's Office and Legislature. These reports provide information on various key functions within the system.
Important, if not perhaps somewhat confusing, collecting and reporting data can be a large part of a Distance Education Coordinator's position. Working with local or district MIS (management information systems) departments, data needs to be gathered and sent to the Chancellor's Office during the year. Sometimes the person responsible is in the MIS department or it is, in fact, the DE Coordinator. At the very least, knowing how it all works makes it easier to assist in the process.
