Administrative Support

Distance Education is an instructional program. Consequently, distance education courses must have administrative support. The program should be an integral part of the college curricula and not be viewed as separate. The only difference between on-campus classes and distance education classes is the method of instructional delivery. The Vice President of Academic Affairs (Chief Instructional Officer) must be a supporter and be aware of the strengths and challenges of the DE program. Class size, testing methods, curriculum development, course scheduling, faculty assignment, budget, technology cost, intellectual property rights and the many other issues associated with this area must be communicated to this administrator.
