Effective Practices - Faculty Support
In this section, challenges to providing faculty support and what can be done to address these challenges will be explored.
Faculty support commonly involves issues related to class size, compensation for course design, the provision of training, along with ownership of course materials and other regionally significant factors.
Different skills may be required of faculty to teach online learners, so therefore pedagogical training (in addition to technological training) is vital to the success of the online course development and implementation process. DE Coordinators should be aware of the need for faculty support and should communicate regularly with the local Academic Senate.
