Creative Commons

In 2001, Creative Commons was established as a non-profit organization to work alongside copyright laws and provide an alternative to the restrictive copyright terms.  The video below describes Creative Commons. Creative Commons licensing has come a long way.  More and more recipients of foundation and government grants are required to make materials created under the grants to be licensed as creative commons. The State of California adopted legislation requiring the Creative Commons license to be added Links to an external site. to all materials produced under a grant or contract through the California Community College Chancellor's Office This legislation is similar to that for any grant or contract awarded through the US Department of Labor TAACCCT grants.
