Welcome to the ASCCC OERI Resource Page for Anthropology. This space is intended to provide faculty in the discipline with a collection of resources that have been subject to a peer-review process and/or that have been selected for use by faculty in the California community colleges. In addition to providing you with access to resources, this is also a place to interact with your colleagues.

Current Status of Anthropology

The anthropology discipline was surveyed in October 2019. The results have been incorporated into the lists below. The three commonly taught anthropology courses at the California Community Colleges (and most colleges and universities) are: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Introduction to Biological Anthropology, and Introduction to Archaeology. In addition to these core courses, some faculty teach specialized topics within each of the sub-disciplines; whenever possible, OER for these courses are included below.
