In addition to events designed for OERLs, the ASCCC OERI hosts weekly webinars that are designed for the general public. Please share the information about those webinars with your colleagues. During the 2020 Spring term, these will be held on Thursdays from 1 pm - 2 pm.

    • Friday, March 1, 11am: The Impact of OER on Equity Archived Webinar Links to an external site.
      We know that OER saves students money. What other differences can OER make for students? How does this relate to equity? Learn about the differences OER can make for all students, especially those that are historically under-served by the higher education system. This webinar is designed for OER Liaisons, but is open to all.
    • Thursday, March 7, 1:00pm: Determining Whether or Not an Online Resource is Accessible Archived Webinar Links to an external site.
    • Monday, April 8, 1:00pm:  A Critical Collaboration – Working with your Bookstore to Make OER Available Archived Webinar Links to an external site.
      • Adopting OER is only one step in making such resources available to students. When, where, and how are students informed about accessing OER course resources? Collaborating with the bookstore can help us inform students about digital requirements, print options, and the availability of other course materials. What strategies are being used at different colleges to inform students about OER textbook requirements for classes? Join us for a discussion of how to work with your bookstore to ensure timely and accurate communication about OER resources. This webinar is for OER Liaisons only.
    • Thursday, April 18, 1pm: LibreText "Freeing" the Textbook Archived Webinar Links to an external site.
      • LibreText, housed at UC Davis, states that its mission is to”…develop an easy-to-use online platform for the construction, customization, and dissemination of open educational resources (OER) to reduce the burdens of unreasonable textbook costs to our students and society.” Join LibreText’s Executive Director to learn about what LibreText has to offer. This webinar is designed for OER Liaisons but is open to all.
    • Thursday, April 25, 1:00 PM:  Printing Solutions for OER Archived Webinar Links to an external site.
      • OER is free digitally but what options and are available when students (and instructors) prefer print versions? Sometimes print is needed for accessibility accommodation. Challenges and solutions for printing will be covered with specific examples from CCCs. This webinar is designed for OER Liaisons but is open to all.
    • May 17, 10:30-11:30: The ASCCC OERI - Liaison Debrief and Next Steps - REGISTRATION Links to an external site.
      • This OER Liaisons' webinar is a chance to discuss what worked and did not work for liaisons during our 1st semester.
