Reviewing Accessibility for the CVC Course Design Rubric

Welcome

This content is aimed at helping your local POCR team understand how to review courses for Section D. It includes:

  • an introduction to what content must be made accessible,
  • an explanation of why this formatting is necessary,
  • tips on using the WAVE tool or Canvas Accessibility Checker to review for elements D1-7,
  • ideas for how to handle "external" files—meaning content in Word, PPT, Excel, or PDF (D8-10), and
  • tips for dealing with captions and transcripts (D12-13).

We strongly encourage each member of your review team to work through the entire course. There's a lot to learn about accessibility and we want to be sure you've got the strongest foundation possible as you work with your faculty.

 LET'S GO!

We've developed an adoptable version of this content (minus the info on how to review) to help you train your faculty how to format their content properly.
