The learning landscape has abruptly changed for us and our students due to this pandemic. Now that we have students moving from on-ground to online, it’s essential to create a learning environment that is accessible to students who require assistive technologies. Note that many of our students in DSPS rely on DSPS services: they don’t have their own assistive technologies at home. They may just have their phone or a tablet. This means, if we don’t format our content correctly, our students may have to travel to a DSPS office for support. We can help our students by focusing on the basic elements that we can easily manage in Canvas. Let us take the time to prioritize our efforts and focus on first addressing Canvas page accessibility.

The next module will focus on color usage and captioning.
