INTRODUCTION

I feel that the best way to start the course is with an introduction. You will see an area for you to write your introduction below. Here is a brief introduction of myself, your facilitator. My name is Dr. Crystal Nasio and I am serving in the role of Dean of Instruction for Workforce and Economic Development for Barstow Community College.  I have been in higher education since 2001. I started my career in student services and critical theory research at Brigham Young University. In 2005, I accepted a graduated assistant role at Arizona State University and began my career in teaching. Since that first assignment with freshman students, I have taught as an adjunct professor for three colleges: ASU, Ottawa University and Concordia University. It has been a privilege being able to teach students from freshman to doctoral students. In the process of growing my strengths in teaching, I developed my leadership style and began roles  in higher education administration. I have been a Dean since 2011 in Career Education and have had the privilege to consult or be on staff with Mt. San Jacinto College, Chaffey College, College of the Desert and Barstow Community College.
