Instructional Video
Overview
Accessible video lectures that solve math problems will need:
- Accurate closed captioning.
- Audio description describing on-screen action.
- A Word document containing the video lecture equations created with MathML.
Goal: After reviewing this page, participants will provide captioning and an accessible MS Word document containing math problems used during the video lecture.
Programs that can help the process
- EquatIO is a screenshot reader that allows users to screenshot math equations or expressions and paste it into other editors. MathML and LaTeX are supported. At this time, the program can only do one equation at a time.
- Software Needed / Recommended has additional resources that can help speed the process along.
- MathPix
Sample Workflow
- Caption the video.
- Create a Word document with time stamps and enter all the video equations into the Word Document as MathML.
- Provide the captioned video, and the Word document with equations entered as MathML.
