A13 - Student Services
ALIGNED: Links to institutional services (such as disability services, online counseling, online tutoring, online readiness, the library) are included and clearly labeled.
Though online students (especially those enrolling via the CCC Cross Enrollment platform) may not be on-campus, they still need access to the same services as other students. Increasing success rates in online learning means the online learning environment is fully resourced with easy-to-find information about library services, admissions and records, technical support, disability services, computer labs, and tutoring via links to web pages for those services.
There is no set list of which services should be listed in your course but, at a minimum, students would be supported by having easy access to:
- online readiness tutorials (see Tips & Examples)
- online tutoring
- online counseling
- disability services
- campus library
NOTE: Many colleges are now including a link in the course navigation to a central "hub" for student services and resources. If that's true in your case, alignment can be met by including a clear description (in your syllabus, on your Home page, and/or in the Orientation module) of the purpose and location of the hubspot so students can easily locate needed services throughout the term.
Keep in mind, the college webpage won't include relevant and necessary course/instructor policies (like grading, late work, etc.) addressed in A12.

Where to Look
This may be provided as a list of services in a section of the course syllabus or as a page in the Orientation module.
What to Look For
Each service should be clearly labeled so a student will know exactly what is being described. There is no strict definition of which services must be covered but we would expect DSPS, online tutoring, online readiness, online counseling, and the library, at the least.
Many colleges are now including a link in the course navigation to a central "hub" for student services and resources. If that's the case, the instructor should include, within the course, a clear description of the purpose and location of the hubspot so students can easily locate needed services throughout the term.
