Step 3 Lesson
Communication
Effective communication ensures all stakeholders know about the changes and understand their reasons. This is crucial for fostering an environment of transparency and trust, helping to align everyone's expectations, and reducing resistance to change.
Communication plan: How changes will be communicated to stakeholders.
Examples: Send a college-wide email to gain buy-in and advise the campus community about changes to the procurement process and why it is essential. Create a webpage explaining the new process and purchase requirements.
Training
Training is essential for ensuring employees have the knowledge and skills to implement the new process correctly. Training helps employees understand their roles within the new process, the steps they need to take, and how to handle any situations or challenges that may arise. Provide training in various ways to accommodate different learning styles and schedules.
Training plan: Methods for training employees on the new process.
Examples: Zoom training, in-person training, short videos
Support
Change can be challenging, and support mechanisms are essential for helping employees adapt to new procedures. Support helps resolve issues more efficiently and encourages employees to engage confidently with the new process.
Support mechanisms for employees during the transition.
Example: Designate a process contact person familiar with the process to answer questions and provide guidance.
Step 3 Resources
Note: As the process evolves, these may or may not be implemented. The full training, communication, and support plans are in the resource section.
