Faculty at the “Pine” have embraced guided pathways with gusto, developing degree maps that specify not only general education courses, but electives and non-curricular experiences. Students in a given meta-major are expected to function as a cohort during their first year and then transition into specific majors during their second year. The relatively rigid structure dictates what courses all students will take and fills virtually all general education requirements with courses that are major preparation. As a consequence, the vast majority of courses in the curriculum will effectively be phased out.

Justify your selection by crafting the college’s general education philosophy and any policies that might be needed to support it.
