During the early 1960s a great debate began regarding the ways in which genetics, environmental factors, and social learning shaped a child’s development. This debate still lingers and is commonly referred to as the Nature vs. Nurture Debate. Discussion Board: (prompt) After viewing this video, answer the following: What did you find most interesting? What surprised you that you might not have realized before? Concern or question you have regarding aggressive behaviors.
Discussion questions “What things do you do that you would consider positive that was modeled to you. What are they and how was it modeled? What things do you do that might be viewed as negative that was modeled you and how was it modeled?
Discussion: Bandura’s theory of learned aggression. Have students then discuss the role of media in modeling for our children and themselves. Have a class discussion asking what experience they have had with learned aggression, either with their children or in their own life.
