In the first years of life, babies’ brain make between 700 and 1,000 new neural connections per second, building critical brain architecture that lays the foundation for all future learning, which is why high quality care is crucial for all children. 2:21

Ways To Use
  • Activity:  have students write sample open ended questions and closed ended questions as a group.  We would then discuss.  
  • Discussion: the importance of talking to infants in the development of  infant language development.  
  •  Discussion:  ask students to give more examples of serve and return interactions with infants from their own lives.
