Criteria for Tool and Resource Additions

Consideration of additional hiring module resources and tools should be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  1. Authoritative--any resource or tool added to a module should be from an expert in their field who is reliable and unbiased.  For example, individuals or organizations from higher education such as ASCCC, CCCCO, ACHRO, CSSOs, CIOs, local or district senate presidents, and scholars in the discipline or area).
  2. Timely--any resource or tool for consideration should be recently published or updated (e.g., within the last five years).
  3. Equity-minded--all resources or tools added to a module should fit one or more of the established equity frameworks within this learning module as it pertains to the hiring process (see chart below):

  4. FOR TOOLS: Additional evaluation should be considered for inclusion of a tool or an effective practice for the hiring process as follows:

    • Should be measurable--provide clear way to evaluate effectiveness.
    • Should be evidence-based--show with data the relevance and effectiveness of the process.
    • Should build in accountability--have a actionable or actualized way to ensure use and effectiveness.
    • Should be student-centered--focus on hiring processes that are framed in student-centered practices.
