What MODEL ACTIVITY could we use?
Below is an example of one activity you may use or tailor to your local campus or district to begin designing a DELIBERATIONS PROCESS for equity, diversity, and inclusion in hiring:
Evaluation Criteria and Rubrics for Discussion
- Set aside more time than usual to establish evaluation criteria, based in the job description and in particular the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to performing the job
- Develop a rubric for deliberation dialogue based on the criteria above
- Be mindful of implicit bias in yourself and disrupt bias by practicing calling-in with your colleagues
