Step 7: How to log into the course

The final section of your homepage we suggest is information about how to log into the course. This is critical for students. While most will know how to do it, some won't. And, for all students, including a link to the log-in portal makes your Liquid Syllabus even more resourceful.

Using the method of your choice (create new section or duplicate an existing one):

  1. Add a Heading that says, "How to get into our Course"
  2. Create two columns just like you did previously.
  3. In column one:
    1. Add the subheading How to sign in
    2. Add a brief line of text explaining where students go to sign in
    3. Insert a button that links to the sign in portal.
      • In the far right Insert column, select Button
      • In the Name field, type Sign into our course now!
      • In the Link field, paste the URL (web address) to the sign in page.
      • Select the blue Insert button
      • Click and drag the edge of the button to ensure all the text is visible.
      • If the button was created in a new section, click and drag it into your existing section so it is placed just below the subheading and body text (a blue bar will appear just below the text).
  4. In column two repeat the steps above.
    • Use How to get help with Canvas as the subheading and
    • Create a button that says "Get Canvas help" that links to the support site.
